Freedom of Speech.
I’m no fan of Katie Hopkins but surely she is allowed to hold a book launch and give her opionions on the state of the nation?

Apparently not though.

In Lewes last night 100 masked cowards turned up and attacked security guards, the police and people who were attending the show. The show was subsequently cancelled.

As I said I’m no fan of hers but it seems to me that freedom of speech is dying in this country.

Comma "

Katie Hopkins will be missed by the extreme right racist chavs and many Brexit nut jobs i would say that is 20% of them, she could make some good money in America though the Trumpsters would see her as a voice of reason and understanding.
It's a shame because she I am sure was salivating and chomping off at the bit to have a go at Meghan Markle.
People like Hopkins did not exist on TV or radio in the UK but they do in America I know she is nothing but a creation a shock jock but she causes certain types to believe how they think is normal when it is not.

She's left Mail Online, by mutual consent it seems.

Re: Freedom of Speech.
Her niche is finding an offensive opinion on any issue
I’m sure she doesn’t believe half of it but an editor rings her and says ... can we have 500 words on .... the Royal Wedding?
To be honest that’s probably an easy one for her!

Re: Freedom of Speech.
There are laws about racist or homophobic speech for example or in relation to inciting violence etc
If you transgress them then you should face the law.
If Katie Hopkins does that then prosecute her
If she says things which just generally annoy people ( which appears to be her job description) then argue against her or ignore her.
Otherwise it’s a bit like saying music or tv shows you don’t watch should be banned.

Re: Freedom of Speech.
For example I do not agree with a lot of what Nigel Farrage say's but the man speaks in an inoffensive way he rarely crosses the line, I would have no problem having a pint and a chat with him in a pub.
Katie hopkins is and i quote Charlie Murphy (R.I.P), a habitual line crosser.

The modern generation are too busy liking stuff to listen to it.

Re: Freedom of Speech.
Didn’t Tony Blair have a book launch cancelled under similar circumstances?

Personally I am in favour of everyone being able to say what they like.
If someone is an idiot I find the best way to disarm them is let them speak and be questioned. A bit like that BNP bloke Nick Griffin who faded away once people heard him argue his case.
This idea of non-platforming at universities particularly I find utterly depressing and typical of the modern generation

Anarchists getting angry about someone's choice of free enterprise did strike me as ironic.

Most so-called anarchists are idiots. The only good thing they’ve ever done was smash up that hipster cereal cafe.

Katie Hopkins is extremely unlikeable and talks a whole wealth of bollocks but she often comes across as far more rational and reasoned than the Twitterati who hang on her every tweet to hurl abuse at her.

Re: Freedom of Speech.
So women can go on twitter and accuse men of sexual abuse but she can’t say some Muslim men like grooming white English girls?

Re: Freedom of Speech.
Freedom of speech is very important and must always be upheld.
But those who enjoy offending or feel the need to offend and be spiteful constantly will occasionally face the wrath of those who they offend, its human nature to say I have had enough and some humans are mental.
Katie Hopkins is never rational and always spiteful and hateful which might to hateful spiteful people seem normal and 'telling it like it is' but to most sane intelligent people she will come off as someone who sets out to divide and annoy , which they will see as utterly cuntish.

Yes.

If they're lying then someone else should be able to prove it by telling the truth.

Keeping them "silent" means that people who really want to will listen to them anyway, only without the chance of the above happening.

Comma, such admirable concern for the truth.

I expect your concern is highly selective, though.

In my book everyone is an utter cunt unless they can prove otherwise.
However, freedom of speech only exists because language exists. If she's speeking in chinese none of us would be energised or offended.
